Venturing Crew 28 is a coed Boy Scout Venturing Crew located in Rising Sun, Maryland serving the Rising Sun and surrounding communities including Conowingo, Oxford, Port Deposit, and North East since 1999.  Venturing Crew 28 belongs to Chester County Council, BSA and is sponsored by the American Legion Post 194 of Rising Sun Maryland. 

Our Crew is general interest and focuses on having fun in our adventures.  Our past activities include:

-          Whitewater rafting

-          Rock climbing

-          Spelunking/ Caving

-          Backpacking

-          Biking

-          Camping

-          Sailing

-          Canoeing

-          Indoor rock climbing

-          Horseback trips

-          Hiking

-          Battle of the Bands contest

-          Volunteering in the community

-          Unique experiences such as Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Scottish Highland Games, Lumberjack

We are a completely youth ran organization.  Our adult leaders support the youth in their planning and execution of their adventures.  With all of our adventures come costs in which we work hard to keep to a minimum for our members.  This means fundraisers; again youth ran with adult support.  Not only are we having fun on our adventures, we are learning and growing into responsible adults.

Members are not required to maintain 100% attendance on all activities.  We understand our members have many commitments to other organizations.  We do not hold this against our members.  However our members must participate and attend fundraisers for profit sharing.

Venturing is opened to young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21.  Previous Scouting experience not necessary to join.   Take a look around our site and if you are interested in joining, please contact us for more information and a time to stop by for a visit!
