On December 2, the Troop attended, in Rising Sun, the annual Town Carol Sing. We collected food, joined in the singing and passed out the programs. We struggled through the cold and yet felt the warmth. When we counted the food and we had 120 items. They were delivered to the Ray Of Hope Mission and they really appreciated the food. The number of people looking for assistance is up this year so any and all things help no matter how big or small! On December 8, at our meeting, the Troop made wreaths that were to be given to local nursing homes. The Haydens delivered some to Golden Legends, Deer Ridge, Hilltop Manor 1 and Hilltop Manor 2 and Geoffrey went to Calvert Manor. They were holly wreaths with a red bow and several pinecones placed on them. The Scouts had a lot of fun and there were enough glue guns to go around. We wish to thank Mitchell for getting the supplies together. We hope that they brighten those that might be alone around the holidays. These things that the young men have accomplished are what we are here to do. When we reach out and help those less fortunate in our community we are good citizens. If the Scouts take something from these and use it the future they should be prepared. Scouts are leaders and if we can lead and show others how to do good tasks then we are on the right path!!!! |

The troop will be heading up to Camp Ware and staying in Cubtown. This is a family trip with a troop dinner on Sat night. The scouts are allowed to bring their video games. What they bring should be shared with everyone!! We will need a head cout as soon as possible for the dinner. The permission slips are due at the town carol sing on Dec 2. The dinner will include turkey, ham, potatoes, corn and the rest!!! Each family is asked to bring a new unopened and unwrapped board game that will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Please pick a game that is suited for your age level. Spend less then $10 on it! |
