Location: Philadelphia, PA On November 13, 2009 we went to Camp Delmont. We left the Legion at 6:15 p.m. and drove for about 2 hours. When we arrived at camp we had to fill up all of our water containers because the water was two miles from our campsite. The cabin had no running water, no restrooms and was very rustic – we kept saying it was like a five-star hotel. On Saturday we went to Boy Scout Days at the National Constitution Center where we worked on our Citizenship in the Nation, Law and American Heritage merit badges. We also visited the Liberty Bell. On Saturday night Nick broke his bed and the fire was so hot everyone was wearing shorts. On Sunday Mr. Kotch got his truck stuck twice and then we went home. |

Location: York, Pennsylvania On October 16th we took a trip to the Harley factory tour in York Pennsylvania. I was really excited to go on this trip because I like motorcycles. We arrived there and had some time before the tour so we did a puzzle to make a motorcycle and sat on some of the motorcycles that the factory had displayed. When it was time for the tour to begin, we watched a short ten minute movie about the generations of motorcycles and Harley Davidson’s. We then met our tour guide and he explained all of the rules of the factory. We were then off on our tour. It was cool to see all of the parts being made for the Harley tour bikes. We even saw a police motorcycle being made which was also interesting to see. After the tour we went to McDonald’s to grab a bite to eat. Lastly, we heading to the Wolfgang Chocolate factory to see if we could get a tour. All of the tours were booked though so we didn’t get to go on one, but we did get some tasty sweets and hair nets. We all agreed that the trip was a blast and we headed home. |
